The parish was founded in 1955 and was named in honor of St. Pius X who as Pope established the Diocese of El Paso. Our present church facility was dedicated on June 26, 1993.
The theme of the parish master plan is Communion and Mission. We are a community centered on life with the Supreme Communion, the Triune God. Christ calls this community to the mission of fostering the kingdom of God.
Our parish logo illustrates the theme further: Jesus at the center of the altar table with one hand welcoming all to community around the table and with the other outstretched arm sending the community forth on its mission.
Our facilities are built to strengthen community and mission. The architectural design follows the Vatican II norms for church buildings, the rich religious history and culture of the Catholic Southwest and the pastoral needs of the parish community.
